When the soul reincarnates under the ascendant of Pisces, it is completing a major cycle related to Karma. Pisces is the last sign on the Zodiac wheel.
For the Pisces ascendant, there is a certain awareness that the path that they have traveled has not been the result of chance, that they have arrived at the point where they are to do their work, and fulfill the destiny that they have opened for themselves.
The General Characteristics of Pisces
Two fishes adhered to each other: tail with face, the sign of the Fish is strong in the day, of water, richly endowed with Sattva, self-sufficient, moving through the waters, without feet, medium-bodied, north, rising in both directions and ruled by Jupiter.
Brihat Parashara Hora Sastra
The element associated with the Pisces zodiac sign is water. Emotions are associated with water, especially the most tender ones. This makes Pisces ascendants kind, considerate, and sweet. They are driven by the desire to do good for oneself, due to the sattvic nature (tendencies, qualities, attributes) of this sign.
Pisces ascendants are known to have big hearts. They are kind and compassionate people, willing to make great sacrifices for others. They can empathize in a way that is most genuine.
Pisces tend to instill a sense of trust in others and bring out the best in them. If you’ve ever experienced meeting someone for the first time and feel better after your conversation compared to before it began, that person was likely a Pisces ascendant.
When it comes to friendships, Pisces prefer quality over quantity. They focus on building meaningful relationships, choosing friends who add meaning to their lives, and avoiding those that are an emotional drain.
Pisces spend time getting to know someone. They are not superficial and care more about what is inside of a person than what they present on the outside.
Pisces ascendants tend to rely on intuition and instincts when making decisions. Sometimes this can lead them to be indecisive, as they have many doubts about the choices they make.
Pisces are deeply emotional. They feel everything intensely and are known to have rapid mood swings. For this reason, it is easy to hurt their feelings.
So what happens when Pisces is upset?
Pisces does not like confrontation, so you will not see them explode with anger. Instead, Pisces tend to be passive-aggressive when they are angry.
Pisces are very spiritually oriented. They have a deep connection to the universe and gravitate towards meditation.
Adaptability and flexibility are characteristics of the Pisces personality. They focus on the big picture and can usually find common ground with others.
Pisces Do Not Have Any Feet
It is natural for them to have no feet, unlike all other zodiac signs who have two or more feet. The meaning of feet for each sign of the zodiac is the ability to change direction, the ability to be stable. A sign with four feet has greater stability than one with two feet. A sign with two feet also has more directional options. They can move to the side for example.
Because they have no feet, Pisces are not particularly grounded and can change their minds on a whim. They exposed to the different tides in their environment.
The sea or lake are the places of Pisces. At the conclusion of a cycle of reincarnation, and preparing for the new one, the Pisces ascendant accepts the changes that fate brings them in their present life in the form of tides, sometimes furious and sometimes calm. However, Pisces ascendants must take care not to get carried away by passivity, as there is a tendency to constantly let themselves be carried away by currents in the water. This can be a repetitive behavior in one or more of the areas of their life.
The symbol of the fish in opposite directions suggests that the behavior of Pisces is contradictory. It also indicates that when making decisions they can become confused or can confuse others. This is because the planet Mercury is debilitated in Pisces. Mercury is the planet of discrimination. For Pisces, their 5th house (Cancer) is ruled by the Moon, which is related to emotions more than to the ability to discriminate. This means that Pisces cannot make an important decision without taking their emotions into consideration.
Pisces Is Ruled by Jupiter
Jupiter is the planet that rules Pisces. It is the planet of expansion and growth. It is divine grace, practicing the good and the ethical. Jupiter is wisdom. It represents the abstractions of life.
Jupiter endows the Pisces ascendant with a caring presence and a gentle manner, along with a willingness to serve and to give guidance to others. Jupiter is the planet related to teachings: those of worldly matters and of spiritual truths.
Jupiter is exalted in the 5th house of Pisces, the sign of Cancer. It helps the Pisces ascendant to see that they must follow their dharma to discover their identity, in addition to learning to discriminate, since the 5th house is related to discrimination, creativity and intelligence. The exaltation of Jupiter in this house also points to the opportunities available to Pisces ascendants to learn great lessons from their children, in addition to the happiness that they can glean from them.
Pisces is the sign that represents the 12th House in the Natural Zodiac. The 12th house is related to remote places, isolation, places of retreat, convents, and ashrams.
Pisces Are Dreamers
Pisces ascendants are eternal dreamers. They tend to live in their heads. Their world is one of fantasy and illusions. This makes them escapists that often are lost in their own imagination.
Therefore, it is not surprising that Pisces ascendants tend to be visionaries with many creative ideas. A common problem is that they do not like to follow established protocols. In fact, many of their ideas are designed to circumvent them. They operate under the adage that you cannot make an omelette without breaking some eggs.
A weakness of Pisces is that they are not particularly adept at bringing ideas to fruition. They don’t like to be bogged down by the details of doing projects. After all, details interfere with their dreaming.
Additionally, when Pisces ascendants face adverse situations, they have an inclination toward escapism. This escapism can occur due to misunderstood facts or fantasies. However, to avoid dealing with problems or to pretend that they don’t exist, usually does not lead to positive outcomes and can cause Pisces to have difficulties with interpersonal relationships. Pisces ascendants also may take refuge in vices as a way to escape adversity. Remember, Pisces is in the 12th house of the natural zodiac, which is is related to vices.
Pisces is a sign with a great tendency toward self-sacrifice. This is evidenced by the position of the Sun as ruler of their 6th house. The 6th house is the house of work and effort. Pisces ascendants understand that their achievements are based on effort and that those achievements often have required great sacrifices. The Sun helps to give Pisces them strength to engage in these sacrifices.
In general, Pisces ascendants are very generous people. At times this tendency can make them spend everything they earn on others or to distribute uncritically their money among members of their family.
Pisces and Health in Vedic Astrology
The Sun is the determinant of health for Pisces. If it is strong, and the Rahu and Ketu nodes along with other malefic planets like Venus and Saturn do not cause distress on the houses or planets, then the health of Pisces generally will be generally good.
Health conditions that Pisces might suffer from are disorders related to the Kapha dosha, since the planet Jupiter contains this humor. For example, a Pisces person can have diseases related to increased phlegm (such as frequent colds and sinusitis), pain associated with gout, joint pain, circulatory system diseases, or those of the lymphatic system. They also are susceptible to foot diseases.
Pisces are vulnerable to health problems during the months of August and September, when the Sun, Venus and Mercury pass through Leo, which is a malefic house for Pisces.
Career Paths of Pisces
Pisces are very imaginative, compassionate, and generous people. In terms of employment, Pisces tend to be idealistic and pursue careers that interest them, rather than being motivated by the amount of money that they can earn. They are more likely to choose to work for a company because they are impressed with its values and mission, without even considering what their salary might be.
Pisces ascendants are not very suitable for a structured 9-5 workplace. However, their strong adaptability and flexibility will allow them to do so, if it is necessary.

Pisces and Love in Vedic Astrology
Mercury is the determinant of marriage for Pisces. This is because Mercury is exalted in Virgo which is its 7th house.
Pisces are loyal and devoted romantic partners. They bring out the best in their spouses, are very supportive, and instill a sense of trust in them.
Pisces ascendants like to feel special and loved, but they tend to give as much or more affection as they receive. Pisces appreciate honesty and sincerity, preferring to hear the truth even if it hurts.
When Pisces ascendants have a harmonious relationship, it makes everything else go better in their life. But Mercury is debilitated in Pisces, which means that love problems can cause a profound effect and imbalance in the life of the Pisces ascendant.
Venus is exalted in Pisces. It rules the 8th house for Pisces and is the planet of pleasures and material pursuits. This indicates that the sensual or material desires of the Pisces ascendant will have to be transformed into something that leads them to dharma or the search for truth for them to be truly happy.
